Ina Yalof

I have spent my professional career as an investigative journalist and non-fiction author reporting on a variety of diverse topics; medicine and science; religion and happiness and many more.   I have also taught fiction writing in Dartmouth College’s ILEAD program.   So why now did I choose to write about food?   Because we’ve become a nation of “foodies” obsessed with cooking, serving, entertaining and, of course, eating. And because the time just seemed right to explore what it is that makes food-people tick; to learn how they view their world.  In FOOD AND THE CITY, I focus my lens on this country’s most food-crazed metropolis, New York, with an eye toward eliciting the stories of the people who fuel it.  (And hoping to score a few good meals along the way.)
